Story in English::
Once upon a time, there lived a pair of crow on a banyan tree. They had no children. One day a snake came there and made his home in a hole beneath the banyan tree.
After a few days the mother crow laid four eggs and soon they hatched.
Both the mother crow and the father crow were very happy to see their young ones.
The father crow said, "I shall go and bring some food for our children, after that I'll take care of the children and you go out."
The mother crow agreed to this arrangement. They took turns for bringing food and caring for their children.
One day the crow-pair went out together in search of food. The snake, when realized that there is no one up, crawled up and ate the young ones.
When the mother crow didn't find her children there, she cried a lot.
After a few months she again laid eggs. The father crow went out in search of food.
Mother crow sat on the upper branch of the tree. The snake again came up the tree. Mother crow cried for help and tried to drive him away.
But the snake crawled up and ate the eggs.
Mother crow cried bitterly. When the father crow returned, he also became very sad on seeing what had happened.
He said to his wife, "dear, we cannot live here as long as the snake lives here. Every time, he will eat our eggs. We should move to some other place."
But the mother crow was reluctant.
She wanted to take revenge but the male crow consoled her.
She said, "I don't want sympathies, all I want is revenge."
So the male crow went to his old friends. He told them about snake and wanted their advice.
He said, "my wife is bent upon taking revenge. You are the ones who can help us."
They thought for sometime and said, "don't worry, you don't need to leave your nest. We shall see what can be done. We shall try our best to help you drive away the snake."
Then they told their plan to the crow.
All of them decided to work according to the plan. The deer said, "There is a lake nearby the palace of the king. The princess comes and takes bath in that lake everyday."
He further said, "Tomorrow morning you go there and pick some of her precious ornaments. She will order her servants to look for that."
"They'll chase you. After that you put those ornaments in the snake's hole. They'll take out the ornaments by killing the snake and your problem will be solved," advised the deer.
Next morning the crow went to the lake and picked up the princess' necklace. Her servants chased the crow.
Then the crow dropped the necklace in the snake's hole.
The servants tried to take it out with spears.
The snake got disturbed and raised his hissing head. The servants then beat the snake to death.
Then they took the necklace out and went away.
The father crow and mother crow were happy now. They thanked all the friends for their help.
